I'm in awe of how God brings us together. My friend Mark attends faithfully every Sunday, and last weekend during Love Shelbyville, he asked me if there were some photographs of people from church that he could take and draw. I gave him a couple and then he asked for a photo of me specifically. He came back with this drawing on a posterboard this weekend!
I can't tell you how encouraging this was! And what a reminder of how God gives us gifts to encourage the body and bring it together. EVERYONE has a gift designed to bring health to the body and grow his kingdom! This Monday, I'm in awe of how God uses those gifts to bring us together.
Sharing my conversation with Erica and Peggy from ALC! The first of several conversations with our partners dropped on the podcast yesterday! You can listen on Spotify here or find it wherever you listen to podcasts. I love their heart for life! And if you want a tangible way to support this ministry, they've got a golf scramble coming up
June 10 and they're currently in their baby bottle challenge.
"Remember your leaders who have spoken God's word to you." (Hebrews 13:7) Y'all. Lee and Rachel Webb are just fantastic people who love Jesus and love people. I'm so grateful for them! The Lord has used Lee to help start over 10 churches since he left Christ Community!! It was a joy to have the Webb's at CCC yesterday and have an opportunity to "Remeber the leaders who have spoken God's word" to me. Kingdom stuff!
The culmination of the books of the Bible challenge. Some of the Lawyer kiddos woke up working to finalize some work on the books of the Bible challenge. What a fun (And impactful!) initiative this has been! Families are learning the books of the Bible - and that's super empowering as we seek to make disciples who can make disciples. To do that, you have to be able to navigate the word! If you've got a kiddo, don't forget the ice cream sundae celebration is this coming weekend, June 9, after the Gathering.
I'm realizing how much I need my D-group. The back half of May and first part of June has a lot on my calendar. I intentionally paused our discipleship group meetings as we try to navigate it all. This Monday, I'm realinzing how much I need that time together with other guys in the word. I've been in the Word, but sharing and processing what God's teaching my soul together with others in that setting affords me way more health than I realize. If we can ever help you find that kind of community, don't hesitate to connect with us.
Looking forward to celebrating the Embry's on June 16th. In 2 weeks, we're going to take some time in our Gathering to celebrate and pray with Mike and Sarah one more time before they head out for their 2 year assignment. You're going to want to be there! It's on my mind often as the time draws near!
