I'm pumped to get Summer Invite Nights started! This coming Sunday night is the first of several nights where Community Groups invite people to a time to hang out, get to know one another, and get involved in each other's lives. First up, baked potato bar and pool party! June 25, 5:30, 212 Buckley Lane.
The delight is in the details.. Speaking of getting involved in one another's lives.. Over the past week or so, there's been a lot of things happening in people's lives! I've been afforded the opportunity to sit with people in a variety of situations and share about the good, the bad, and everything in between. You've heard the old adage "The devil is in the details?" I'm here to tell you the DELIGHT is in the details! Hearing the details of how God has brought people to a certain point or place in life, catching how God has redeemed broken things and people.. WOW! God is good all the way down to the details!
Shepherding people is a team sport. It's been incredibly encouraging to hear about groups of people taking care of one another, showing up at life events, visiting each other in the hospital and more! I LOVE just being with people as they navigate life, but I'm also here to tell you that shepherding is a TEAM sport! I LIKE MY TEAM! Keep loving one another, y'all. It's an incredible testimony of how God loves us.
In all of life's adventures, may we have a sense of eternity on our hearts. (Ecclesiastes 3) It's the season for weekend getaways, vacations, and last second adventures! Enjoy them! Other things create adventures, too. This summer hasn't happened like you thought it would. An addition or subtraction to the family has changed the dynamics just a little. All of us would do well to read Ecclesiastes 3 and then pray inspired by verse 11: “He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also put eternity in their hearts, but no one can discover the work God has done from beginning to end.”
EDGE Students is gaining momentum this summer! I dropped Tinley off for her first EDGE event ever last Tuesday and was in awe of the crowd of teens that had gathered at Red Orchard park! This afternoon, they are gathering at the church to play board games. If you or a teen in your life want to get the text updates for students, sign up here.
