Dear Christ Community

Dear Christ Community,

Jesus cares for you.

And when it comes to your inner life, he wants you to be careful because he cares for you.

The clarity of our inner life increases the brightness of our outer life.

It was so encouraging to hear that in the story of Brady and Ashlyn as they shared about the work God did in them to prepare them for what he’s now doing through them at Fire Missions! Inspiring stuff!

This week will bring a variety of things in our lives CCC.. voting, grieving, failing, worshipping..

We’ll have the opportunity to vote - which we should take - as citizens of this place who care even more about their citizenship in the city that is to come. Build your Election Day sandwich like this: pray, vote, pray.

Some of us will grieve the loss of loved ones. We’ll live in the tension of life and death. Mourn with those who mourn this week.

Some of us will try on a new habit in our spiritual life and not get the results we wanted. Come back to the Gathering next week. The Sermon on the Mount isn’t over yet. Jesus has something to say on Anxiety.

Some of us will listen to the demo of this song Kaleb Nab wrote as he reflected on the vision and mission of Christ Community! Go check it out: https://soundcloud.com/user-432496275/go-be-the-church_demo_11-1-26?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing&si=694d11df6ff34b1184ebbd23abfe6c36

And if you need to be inspired to keep coming back to Jesus in worship,

Listen to this story I heard about another song yesterday afternoon..

Our preschool kiddos were worshipping to the tune of “This Little Light of Mine,” and as the song came to a close, one young man, objected:

“Ms. Sherry! We didn’t sing the ‘Shine all over Shelbyville’ part, and that’s my favorite one!”

The worship set might have been extended by a verse or two in the preschool area yesterday!!!!

Church, I’m never gonna sing that song the same!

Let’s shine all over Shelbyville...

With healthy hearts...

Hearts formed by habits of giving, praying, fasting, and simplifying...

That helps us serve our Master, Jesus.

Love y’all,

Blake
