Psalm 57:7–11 (CSB)

7My heart is confident, God, my heart is confident. I will sing; I will sing praises.

8Wake up, my soul! Wake up, harp and lyre! I will wake up the dawn.

9I will praise you, Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations.

10For your faithful love is as high as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches the clouds.

11God, be exalted above the heavens; let your glory be over the whole earth.

Tyler Higdon's baptism - a picture of disciples making disciples who make disciples...

I've quite literally had a front row seat to watch from as God has changed Tyler's life the last couple months! He's been sitting right in front of me! It was a beautiful thing yesterday to watch his adopted daughter Kelcie baptize him! I learned afterwards that a couple in our church had invested in and discipled Kelcie years ago before she came to Christ. Needless to say, it was a special day for them! It's an incredible picture of disciples making disciples who make disciples! But in all of that we get to exalt God because none of us could have ever orchestrated all those things! Praise him!

It's good to receive back those we've sent!

All of our teams have returned safely from spring missions! It's almost as sweet to receive people back as it is to send them! I had the honor of picking up our Honduras team from the airport and it was such a joy to hear them talk amongst themselves differently because of the deep friendships formed. And then in the days to come, I've seen members of each team have this contagious joy as they reflect on what God's doing in them and in the people they were sent to..

You'll hear more from these teams, but for now, let's be reminded to keep going out near and far. The further we shine his light, the brighter it shines at home!

When it comes to these floods, don't stop believing that prayer works.

Every time I'm online I come across a new photo or read a new story about these historical floods that is just gut wrenching. It's so heartbreaking! The emotional response for me is usually some mix of grief, gratitude, and guilt. Grief for what's lost, gratitude for my own security, and guilt that I'm not doing more.

Materially, I'm super grateful for Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief. I can tell you no one works harder than this team and the amount of ministry and service they do is off the charts! You can donate or get involved with them here.

But I'm also convicted that I often fail to believe in the power of prayer in these situations. I run so quickly to what can do that I fail to believe that if I ask God he'll do immeasurably more. Today, I'm praying that he would rescue hearts, draw back the waters, and restore communities. Would you join me?

He is Exalted!

Yesterday, I broke out in song while preaching - watch out! We ended the preaching time thinking about how we can exalt God this week by way of inspiration from Twila Paris' song, He is Exalted. I thought I would include the rendition of it I listened to often last week from Shane and Shane. Enjoy!

With spring break over, I'm officially pumped for Easter!

A later Easter in 2025 means a few things. One, it might actually be warm! Two, it doesn't happen in conjunction with spring break! I'm excited to celebrate the coming of our resurrected King Sunday, April 20! It's a weekend full of opportunities to hang out with your church family as we have a worship night on Good Friday at 6 pm and an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday morning at 10. Krysta has a great event planned this year and she needs a few more people to help out! Sign-up Here.
