We often miscalculate the impact of our actions, so tell God's story.

I heard a ton of stories the past couple days that recalled small actions people took that had huge impact. I'll scratch the surface..

How verbally sharing the gospel at the gym changed an entire family's rhythm.

How stepping into a board role for a non-profit made the connection a friend needed.

How fixing a pipe motivated someone to go to church.

How a simple invitation from a roommate led to meaningful connection.

How months of prayer led to a decision to being baptized.

How the decision to leave the country you were born in can lead to a deep discovery of the power of God's love for you.

When we go love Shelbyville, it seems to be a magnet for the stories of what God's doing in our midst. It's almost like he's inviting us "outside the gates." (Heb. 13:13) I could give you some cool numbers from serving in the city we love yesterday, but the stories are better! I'd encourage you to tell yours or ask someone who served about theirs!

We often miscalculate how God can use our small actions to change everything. Letting God write the stories we tell helps us see through a dim mirror what God's really doing in our lives.

His faithfulness is like a flood. Let's ride the wave!

Y'all, I'm beyond excited to celebrate with Christ Community over the next couple weeks! We're celebrating 15 years of God's faithfulness to his bride, and I can't wait! As I think about how faithful God has been over those years, it's like a flood...

Overwhelming.

It destroys the stuff in my heart that doesn't belong there.

I'm not always quite sure how to stay afloat in it all!

But just like in the flood of Noah's days, he rescues his children. He helps us ride the wave!

So come celebrate with us! Here's how we're going to do it together..

This Sunday, October 5th, we'll have special guest Karl Babb with us to share some of his story from the early days of CCC. We'll also preview a special "reunion" video of several members of the planting team that said yes to starting CCC 15 years ago. We'll look together at what's next for us as we seek the city that is to come!

Then, Friday, October 10, the 15 year anniversary of CCC's first gathering, we'll have a night of worship out at the Ballard Farm! Invite all your friends as we continue to let God write the story..

This city of God's is worth seeking.

I'm looking back on 10 years of preaching ministry here at Christ Community and it's amazing to me how God has been pressing so many of the themes of his city into my heart through his Word over the years. It's kind of surreal how they resurface as he reveals more and more.

As we've gone through this series, it's been even more incredible to hear and learn from so many others how God envisions this city in people's hearts! It's expanding my love for it more and more! And it's reminding me that it's a city worth seeking.

So let's keep serving CCC.

And let's keep loving.

Let's keep worshipping.

Let's keep fighting for unity.

Let's keep leading our families.

Let's do all that with a humility that trusts the Lord.. by faith.

Let's keep seeking the city that is to come!
