Welcome new members!

There's always something energizing about people stepping into a committed relationship with their church family! It's refreshing! And, it's a blessing to the body to welcome in new people with new stories and new gifts. So join me in welcoming Dee Carlson, Josh, Kristen, Selena, Isaiah, and Grayson Goodlett, and Keith & Libby Nethery.

If you'd like to learn more about Christ Community Church, you can take our online membership class here or sign-up for an in-person version September 28.

Where are you?

The Reverberations series on discipleship leaves each of us asking where we are in the journey towards the city that is to come. The visual helps us think it through. None of us, myself included, are exempt from the reflection needed to take next steps in our journey!

One of the cool things about this discipleship model is that you can use it personally or with groups you are leading to help move towards next steps.

And when you recognize your next step, take it!

"You win them to what you win them with."

So let's win them with the gospel of Jesus! This phrase has been attributed to a lot of people, but I'll never forget hearing it from one of my mentors at my first stop in ministry. It's one of thoese phrases that has rung true across time. It sprang up in my heart and mind again this weekend as we invite people into groups, and membership, and next steps.

Community is great. Worship is great. Serving is great. Bible study is great. Discipleship is great.

Jesus is better. Keep pointing people to him; his death, burial, and resurrection - as the source and strategy for life.

A great first night for students!

Just had to share and celebrate some of the buzz and excitement from the first night of students! It's exciting seeing and hearing students stepping up to lead worship, start initiatives in their schools, and invite their friends to take next steps with Jesus!

The City that is to Come

In one sense, the Lord has been writing this series in my heart for about a decade. And yet, he's continued to reveal more and more through his word! I'm excited to finally jump into this series next week!

Make sure and pick up your copy of the discussion guides/curriculum and find a group to be a part of!

But more than that, it all starts with deciding to be here, ready and engaged on Sunday mornings over the next couple months. I truly believe that the Lord is directing our eyes - our vision - to the city that is to come - as we prepare for the next season of ministry at Christ Community.
