Celebrating with Hazel Flickinger!
How exciting to celebrate with Hazel and her family yesterday as she witnessed her faith in believer's baptism! And since we mentioned gifts yesterday, I wouldn't be surprised if one of hers is administration! I'm not sure I've ever seen a more organized page of notes she had prepared to share about her decision! Awesome!

The First Hymn
I'm a sucker for a good story. But it wasn't just the story behind the song that made The First Hymn a meaningful moment in worship yesterday; it was the realization that we were worshipping God with the same words that believers used long ago. Makes me think about doing that again with them one day in the city that is to come..

A prayer for people's salvation...
A group I'm in hit one of my favorite moments in a group's life cycle: passionately praying for the salvation of people we love.
So today, I'm praying in light of Titus 3:4-7 that says this..
4But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared,
5he saved us—not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy—through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6He poured out his Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior
7so that, having been justified by his grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.
God, in your kindness, save _________. Not because he's done good works or because he's figured things out, but because out of mercy you give him faith! Pour out your Spirit on him God! Bring him to life by grace and extend that life forever by the power of your Spirit. Amen.
