Lots for Lottie
I don't have the final total yet as we work to tally amounts from various places, but I know our in-person giving yesterday had already blown through our $15,000 goal! 2025 has been a marker in Christ Community's story as it relates to our heart for taking the gospel to the nations, and yesterday's Lottie Moon Christmas Offering was the cherry on top! I can't wait for us to keep sending, giving, and partnering around the globe in 2026!
Another note on this, the Community Kids total was really impressive too! How exciting that our kids are beginning to develop a worldview that considers how their faith is connected globally! And how about their singing?!? Literally bringing joy to the world as they sung!
The Peace of Christmas Eve
I say it every year. I love Christmas Eve service. It was a special time for my family growing up and I continue to love to share that night with my family as an adult. I often have a hard time slowing my brain down, and the older I get the more I understand how many other hard dynamics are at play for many families at Christmas.
But Christmas Eve is one of those times that has consistently brought an unexplainable peace over the years. I'm grateful for that and hope that for you too.
Join us Sunday at 5 pm! We'll have some treats ahead of the service as well.
The Slow Dark Nights of Christmas Break
I'm writing this Monday morning from home and our kids are here on Christmas break. Obviously Christmas "break" looks different as an adult, but one thing that I find myself grateful for are the slow dark nights of Christmas break. The days are so short right now and with early sunsets and the kids off school, we often settle into some board games or nights with friends and family. I love it.
It also affords me some time I wouldn't usually have to reflect on the year to come at Christ Community. Katelyn and I are so thankful for the growing number of years the Lord has allowed us to be with this body of believers. It's a gift that means to much to us we're running out of words to describe it! On some of these slow, dark nights of Christmas break, I get to treasure these things in my heart.
Merry Christmas!
