Babies & Barley

The stage full of babies is just one of the most hope-giving things my eyes take in year after year! The gift of life. The opportunity to care, invest in, and disciple. Watching God mold and shape families by his Word. It fills my heart..

Kind of like that feeling Naomi might have had when she saw the barley coming in Ruth's shawl..

A fun side note on barley.. Growing up we mixed our own feed for our sheep. We would mix various amounts of corn and soybean meal and vitamins together. For a long time we mixed it with a shovel in an old wooden box. The barley was usually only something we mixed in for the show lambs. It was the good stuff.

Catching that shot of hope in a bag of barley on this read through of Ruth has been good for my soul. Filling..

Stoking the fire for our volunteer teams

Every May we don't pull any punches on our need for volunteers for the various teams at Christ Community. At this point, we have so many solid leaders of those teams that it's an honor for me to just stoke the fire for those leaders. That's why I couldn't stay in my seat yesterday! I needed CCC to know what kind of opportunity they have to serve with a really great leader!

My heart as a leader is for CCC to never be a place that you sit on the sidelines while at the same time being a place that good leaders don't burnout.

It's a tension to manage, not a problem to solve, but I do know this: the only way to achieve that is for each person in the body to lean in and do their part!

To get started, even if you don't know how you want to serve, text SERVE to 844-548-6405.

Deacon Affirmation Voting

This week our covenant member family votes on our 4 prospective deacon candidates: Josiah & Melissa Downey, Dan Duffala, and Heather Williams.

It's an honor to recommend these fine leaders to our body! If you're a member and did not receive a text with a link to vote, please text us at 844-548-6405.
