Don't Complicate the Mission.

God's doing so much in people's lives that if we're open to it, we can see easily how we might join Him in going out to make disciples. God seems to be dropping that reminder everywhere I turn these days, but it was especially true as we heard from Crystal and Patrick and Isaiah..

  • Being intentional about prioritizing your walk with the Lord
  • Just saying yes when you're 9 year old asks you to take him on a mission trip
  • Opening the Bible with your friends at lunch

Don't complicate the mission. When we keep it simple, he does the work. I was reminded of that again when this text came through..

"Every day I'm learning more and more from the Word. I'm eager to know the truth and it's making my life more fruitful."

"If you study revival history, you’ll discover men and women who sat with the Lord in prayer until He moved." - Robby Gallaty

There's this movement towards more prayerful living bubbling underneath the surface at CCC. It's not that we don't or haven't been praying. There just seems to be a deeper hunger for more. This week I read the above quote in an article by Robby Gallaty and it stoked that prayer fire even more.

I thought I might pass along 3 ways you could get join that underground movement..

  1. Pray for our leaders. Pray for our pastor/elders this week as we have intentional time scheduled just to pray and seek the Lord. Also, pray for our deacons and staff as the care for and equip the body. Finally, pray for the Prospective Deacons (Learn more about them here!) that we believe the Lord is calling us to affirm.
  2. Make a habit of reflectively praying the Lord's Prayer each day. It's amazing what the Lord can and will do as we pray the very prayer that Jesus voiced when his disciples asked him, teach us to pray.
  3. Pick up a copy of A Praying Life by Paul Miller.  It's one of the most catalytic books on prayer I've read!

There is no post 17 in life.

This week in Kentucky is very much about DERBY! Did you know there's only one post position that hasn't produced a derby champion: Post 17.

When it comes to winning in life by connecting with Jesus and his church, there is no post 17. There is no starting position you can't win from. Wherever you are in life right now, start from there and run after Jesus with all your might.

During the month of May at Christ Community, you have opportunities to start from where you're at..

  • You can attend our Be The Church luncheon May 4 (RSVP to Kenny) to learn about becoming a covenant member.
  • Covenant Members can take our online course on Child dedications and discipleship as we get ready to celebrate with families who have new additions.
  • Each Sunday in May you'll hear about volunteer opportunities at CCC that will keep us on mission over the next year - jump in!
  • We'll be celebrating baptisms with people who are starting their new life in Christ! You can join in!

There is no post 17. Whatever point you're starting from, just take your next step towards Jesus and you'll find yourself way ahead in the game of life.
